Boltgun 2 Introduces New Playable Character and Branching Campaigns
Auroch Digital recently unveiled new details for their upcoming title, Boltgun 2, scheduled for release in 2026. Following an initial tease through a complimentary typing game, fresh information highlights significant enhancements to the gameplay experience, including the introduction of a new playable character and a more intricate campaign structure.
Players will now have the option to step into the boots of Nyra Veyrath, a Celestian from the revered Sisters of Battle. This new protagonist brings a distinct combat style, utilizing a bolt pistol and power sword combination for close-quarters engagements, with a meltagun or flamer available for incinerating Imperial adversaries. Nyra's agility, marked by a slide maneuver, offers a stark contrast to the more deliberate movements of the original character, Malum Caedo, a formidable space marine. Beyond character choice, Boltgun 2 will boast a branching narrative, where player decisions directly influence the progression through various levels. The game also expands its environmental diversity, promising exploration across new biomes, including lush jungle swamps, sprawling hive cities, and even ice-covered worlds, ensuring a dynamic and less repetitive journey.
The anticipation for Boltgun 2's release on Steam in 2026 is building, with these new features set to enrich the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The inclusion of a female protagonist and diverse narrative paths underscores a commitment to expanding the game's appeal and depth, inviting players into a more complex and engaging fight for the Imperium.
